Trotz Family Donates Over $27,000 To Kings

DAUPHIN, MB - Before Friday night's Teddy Bear Toss game between the Dauphin Kings and Waywayseecappo Wolverines, a number of special presentations were made. The biggest was one that saw the Barry Trotz family donate over $27,000 to the Dauphin Kings.

Barry Trotz Day happened back on August 22nd. The day saw Barry Trotz return to the City of Sunshine with the Stanley Cup. It was a great day around the community with a parade for the former Dauphin King through the city along with a chance for fans to get a photo with Barry and the Stanley Cup.

There were also a number of other side events hosted, including a meet and greet in the evening and numerous raffle and auction prizes.

When the day was concluded, the organizers and Barry Trotz had raised $156,000!

Over the last few weeks Barry's parents, Ernie & Iris Trotz, have been going around Dauphin giving all that money back to organizations in the community.

On Friday they attended the Dauphin Kings Teddy Bear Toss game where they donated $23,050 to the Dauphin Minor Hockey Association and $27,490 to the Dauphin Kings Hockey Club.

The Dauphin Kings are extremely grateful for the donation towards the hockey club and can't thank Barry Trotz, Ernie & Iris and the organizers of the day enough for their contributions to both the community and the hockey inside it!
