DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings played the first period and then took the rest of the night off in a 6-4 loss to the Neepawa Natives Wednesday night.
The opening 20 minutes featured a very good Dauphin Kings team. The club scored the game's first four goals. Carter Sawchuk (20), Andrew Liwiski (1), Nakodan Greyeyes (21) and Landon Russell (1) all hit the back of the net in the second half of the frame. Dauphin would take a 4-0 advantage to the second period.
In the middle frame Neepawa came alive and scored three goals to get within one of Dauphin going into the third.
The final period saw the Kings continue to struggle and they gave up three more against to fall 6-4.
Special Teams had Dauphin go 1 for 5 while Neepawa was 1 for 3.
Shots were heavily in favour of the Kings 42-28. Matthias Smith suffered the loss between the pipes for the Kings.
The loss puts Dauphin at 25-22-3-2 on the season. They'll continue their mini two game road swing Friday when they visit the Steinbach Pistons for the final time this season. Game time is 7:30pm!
The next Kings home game is TV TUESDAY February 18th when the OCN Blizzard come to town!
