Massey Joins Kings

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings have added a power forward to their team as commitment announcements continue for the upcoming 2020-2021 season.

Forward Charles Massey (2000) stands at 6'1 and 190 pounds. He comes to the Kings from the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) where he spent the majority of last season with the Richmond Generals.

A product of Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac, Quebec, Massey had eight goals and 11 assists in 30 contests with Richmond last season. Earlier in the year he played in the Eastern Hockey League with the New York Apple Core, putting up two goals and four assists in 11 games.

Now coming to Dauphin Massey says he's looking forward to seeing the city as he's heard about its reputation many times.

"I heard about Dauphin through a few people and I looked into the club's structure and I really like it. It looks like a great place to play as well."

Massey notes he's no doubt a power forward, but he can play in all sorts of scenarios.

"I like to consider myself as a power forward that can still work in the D-zone. Really I think I can fit in any spot that the coach needs me in" Massey says. "I enjoy hitting and I also have good speed and a good shot."

The Quebecer has goals, and those goals include him moving his hockey career forward after the 2020-21 season.

"It's my last year in junior hockey so I'm hoping to win a championship and get a scholarship to play college hockey!"

You can hear from Kings Head Coach & GM Doug Hedley below about this week's signings and a look ahead to what's on the horizon.

The Kings would like to welcome Charles Massey and his family to Dauphin! Stay tuned for more Kings commitment announcements in the coming days and weeks!
