Kings Lose To Swan Valley

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings gave up two early goals and couldn't recover in a 6-2 loss to the Swan Valley Stampeders Tuesday night.

Swan Valley scored two goals in the first three minutes and didn't look back. Thomas Hansell tallied for the Kings later in the frame, which gave the club a bit of life, but the Stampeders would add another before the frame was out.

In the second period the Kings fell further behind when the Stamps made it a 4-1 contest. Riley Shamray would once again get Dauphin closer, but Swan Valley would score three more before the period was out to make it a 6-2 contest.

In the third period both teams went scoreless. The Kings had some chances but couldn't hit the back of the net. In the end Justin Anderson suffered the loss in goal, stopping 43 of 49 shots while his team fired 35 on the Swan Valley net.

Swan Valley had one goal on the man advantage Tuesday night while the Kings failed to score on the Power Play. That included a lengthy two man advantage late in the opening period.

The loss puts the Kings at 9-26-2 on the season. They'll play their final game before the Christmas break on Wednesday when they visit the Stampeders in Swan River. Game time is slated for 7:30pm!
