SWAN RIVER, MB - The Dauphin Kings went on their Christmas break early and it cost them in a 10-2 loss to the Swan Valley Stampeders Wednesday night.
The Kings came out flat in the opening 20 minutes and couldn’t bounce back. Swan Valley scored four goals in the first, four more in the second and then finished things off with two in the third.
Landon Lushanko was arguably one of Dauphin’s best players. He scored both of the Kings’ goals Wednesday and both were on the man advantage, a small flicker of light in what was otherwise a very dark game for the club. Karan, Shamray, Smelski and Pion had assists on the Lushanko goals.
Justin Anderson suffered the loss in goal but couldn’t be blamed, as he was left out to dry a few time by his team. In the end Anderson turned aside 22 of 32 shots while his team had 29 shots on the Stampeders net.
Special Teams saw the Kings score two man advantage goals while Swan Valley had three.
Now Dauphin goes into their Christmas break with a record of 9-27-2 on the season, they’ll return to action on Thursday January 4th when the entertain the Selkirk Steelers at Credit Union Place. Game time is 7:30pm!
