Kings Come Up Short In Selkirk

SELKIRK, MB - The Dauphin Kings couldn't score on two early Power Play chances and it may have cost them in a 6-1 loss to the Selkirk Steelers Friday night.

Dauphin had a minute long five on three early on but couldn't score. Minutes later the Steelers got their own man advantages and tallied twice. Selkirk would take that 2-0 lead into the second period and add to it, scoring three times to make it a 5-0 affair.

The Steelers would put in one more to make it 6-0 in the third period before Riese Gaber would score for the Kings with Grady Hobbs and Bradley Estrada getting the assists. Estrada's assist was his first point in his first MJHL game with the Kings after he was acquired in a trade earlier in the week.

Ismael Ralsten suffered  his second straight loss between the pipes for Dauphin, he stopped 38 of 44 shots. His team launched 28 shots on the Selkirk goal.

The Steelers finished the night 2 for 3 on the Power Play while Dauphin was 0 for 4.

The Kings will suffer quick memory loss and get ready for their next game which comes in less than 24 hours. They're now 4-11-1 and will take on the Winnipeg Blues Saturday night at the Bell MTS Iceplex. Game time Saturday is 7:00pm!
