The Dauphin Kings went into the Yellowhead Centre Monday on Louis Riel Day and controlled their game against Neepawa from start to finish as they picked up another two points.

On an afternoon where Carson Cherepak went 24-for-24 to record his league-tying sixth shutout of the season, Dauphin scored early and never trailed in a 4-0 win against the Titans.

Following Logan Calder’s goal just more than five minutes in, Kaden Bryant scored with less than two minutes left to give Dauphin a 2-0 lead after 20.

Brayden Dube scored his 19th and Parker Malchuk scored his seventh of the season in the second as Dauphin skated to a 4-0 lead after 40 and they certainly never looked back.

Cherepak turned away six more shots in the third for his 23rd win of the season and Dauphin now has 32 wins this season.

Game notes:

  • Dauphin now has a seven point lead atop the West Division
  • Dauphin has won five straight games away from Credit Union Place and they now lead their season series with Neepawa, 4-1
  • Steinbach beat Selkirk on Monday, they still have a four point lead over Dauphin for first place in the league; however, Dauphin does have a game in hand

Next up for Dauphin is a date with the Waywayseecappo Wolverines on Friday in Dauphin, they play again on Saturday at the Arena Complex.
