Kings Blow Out Blizzard 10-1

DAUPHIN, MB - Four goals in the first period paced the Dauphin Kings to a 10-1 victory over the OCN Blizzard Saturday night at Credit Union Place.

Dauphin's four goals in the opening period came from Riley Buller (11), Ian Tookenay (3), Bryon Fobair (14) & Brendan Arnold (6).

Dauphin would treat the crowd of over 1000 to one more goal in the final frame from Eamonn Miller (10) before allowing the Blizzard to get on the board with less than five minutes to play.

It was a quiet night in net for Ethan Slobodzian, but he got the job done, stopping 16 of 17 shots while his team launched 57 at the OCN net.

Dauphin tallied once on the man advantage Saturday and did not give up a goal against on the Special Teams side of things.

The win improves Dauphin's record to 25-22-6 on the season, keeping them 6th in the standings. They're now six points ahead of Winnipeg (7th), eight points up on Winkler (8th) and 10 ahead of Wayway (9th).

Next up for the Kings is a key Wednesday affair against the Winnipeg Blues. It's RAIN CHECK NIGHT, meaning any unused season tickets can get you into the game! Puck drop is 7:30pm!
