DAUPHIN, MB - Dauphin Kings D-man Cole DeKoninck has been named the MJHL's player of the week after he treated the fans to a bushel of points last week.
The D-man from Lorette, Manitoba, mixed in three goals and three assists for the Kings in three contests last week.
DeKoninck has not only been playing well since last week, he's been excellent since joining the Kings earlier this season. In his last 11 games the rookie has six goals and eight assists for 14 points.
This season since joining the Kings DeKoninck has 11 goals and 21 assists for 32 points. He's tied for third on Dauphin in scoring. His point per game average (0.78), however, is second best on the team behind Riley Buller (0.80). DeKoninck's 0.78 average is third in the MJHL behind Swan Valley's Sudom (1.10) and Steinbach's Williams (0.82). DeKoninck has played 10 less games than both those players.
DeKoninck and the Kings are back on the ice Wednesday night when they host the Winnipeg Blues at Credit Union Place. Puck drop is 7:30pm!
