THE PAS, MB - The Dauphin Kings started slow again Tuesday night in OCN, but this time it didn't hurt them in a 5-3 victory over the Blizzard.
The Kings once again came out flat and gave up two goals against in the first five minutes of the contest. With that Ethan Slobodzian was pulled after giving up two goals and he was replaced by Bryan Landsberger.
After the goalie change the contest clearly had a momentum shift. Dauphin carried things the rest of the way. Grady Hobbs opened the scoring for Dauphin with his ninth of the campaign. That gave the Kings a 2-1 disadvantage after 20.
In the middle frame it was all Dauphin. Wayde Johannesson (5), Kolby Johnson (5) and Brendan Arnold (4) all tallied to give the Kings a 4-2 advantage after 40. Both teams tallied in the final frame with Nakodan Greyeyes (7) notching for the Kings.
Bryan Landsberger took the win between the pipes. Allowing just a goal on 22 shots. The Kings had 48 shots Tuesday.
The Kings didn't have any goals on the man advantage while the Blizzard scored once.
Dauphin improves to 19-18-4 on the season and will now get off the road for a long stretch as they see six of their next seven at Credit Union Place. They'll kick off a four game home stand Friday when the Portage Terriers come to town. The game sponsor is RBC with puck drop slated for 7:30pm!
