Ziprick Signs LOI For 2021-22

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings are excited to announce their first Letter of Intent signing, adding Parkland goalie Keaton Ziprick for 2021-22!

Ziprick will come to the Kings from the Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League's Parkland Rangers where he has played 51 contests in two seasons. In five games this year he has a 5-0 record (2nd overall) with a 1.61 goals against average (1st overall) and a .944 save percentage (3rd overall).

The 6'0, 205 pound Russell product says he's excited to be joining the team that drafted him three years ago.

"It's pretty special. It's a good organization and they've treated me well. I've had no complaints at all and being able to play a game with them last season, get the win and being with the guys was a pretty cool experience" said Ziprick.

Ziprick was taken in the 6th round (57th overall) by the Kings in the 2018 MJHL Draft. He is the first Dauphin Kings drafted goalie to join the club since Brian Archibald (2009 Draft) did so back in 2012.

Since hockey in Manitoba has been put on pause with COVID-19 Ziprick has been spending a lot of time at his outdoor rink in Russell.

"I've been just working on staying fit. We've been skating at our barn rink quite a bit and I'm just trying to stay active during the pandemic" he added.

Ziprick won't have to worry about getting his first win in Kings colours either. As mentioned, he did that back on October 16th in 2019 when he came in for an injured Matthias Smith. The then 16 year old entered the game in Waywayseecappo with Dauphin down 3-2 in the second period. He went on to help the Kings to a 6-5 overtime victory over the Wolverines.

You can hear more about that game and from Ziprick below!

The Kings would like to welcome Keaton Ziprick and his family to Dauphin! Stay tuned for more Kings player announcements in the coming days!
