Minor hockey team to cheer on Kings in person

The Dauphin Kings will host the Swan Valley Stampeders on Friday night at Credit Union Place.

The game will feature what is guaranteed to be another great crowd inside one of the best facilities in junior hockey and that crowd will include a minor hockey team from the region.

The Roblin U15 Stars will be in the stands for the game as they will get to watch Jakob and Aidan Brook. The brothers were born and raised in Roblin and they are now two critical pieces to this Dauphin Kings roster.

Jarrett Newton is the co-coach with the U15 Stars and he says the players can’t wait to be at the game.

“The players are all so excited,” said Newton. “Lots of these kids on this team skated with Jakob and Aidan during COVID and they are still talking about it. Everyone here in Roblin is so excited to see Jakob and Aidan on this team and we’re looking forward to being a part of the action on Friday.”

Newton had plenty of great things to say about Aidan and when it comes to Jakob, Jarrett believes the 20-year-old is the hardest worker that he has ever met.

“He would be playing with the kids for like three hours and then he wanted to stay on the ice even longer to train and receive some passes,” offered Newton. “There is nobody that works as hard as Jakob and he loves it.”
