Malay and Harris joins Hans this week

Deepkaran Hans made his Dauphin Kings debut over the weekend and what a two-game set he put together.

Thanks to his efforts, he earns the first-star honour in this week’s Parkland Source for Sports Three Stars of the Week.

1st Star – Deepkaran Hans

On Friday night in Selkirk, Hans scored his first goal as a King and he also added one assist in the team’s 3-2 win. Then fast forward to Saturday and Deepkaran put on a show in front of his home fans.

As Dauphin opened a massive 5-0 lead in the first period against Selkirk, Hans scored twice in the opening frame. His second goal was also the game-winner in the 7-3 win.

In just two games with his new team, Hans has three goals and one assist ahead of this weekend’s home-and-home with Virden.

2nd Star – Jayden Harris

The third-year King had one goal and four assists in 38 regular season games last year. Then he produced another five points in 18 playoff games.

This year, Harris is enjoying a career year and it’s only the middle of October. He now has six goals and four assists in 12 games played.

Over the weekend in Selkirk, Harris had a goal and an assist on Friday and he scored once more while adding another assist on Saturday. Harris is getting every chance to succeed this year and he’s making the most of his ice time.

3rd Star – Jovan Malay

During his junior career, Jovan has played in the PIJHL, KIJHL, SJHL, AJHL, OJHL, CCHL, and now, he’s in his first year in the MJHL.

Malay showed what he could do offensively last year with the Chilliwack Jets when he scored seven times and added 16 assists.

This year with the Kings, Malay is starting to pick up steam offensively as he now has three goals and five assists in 12 games. That included a one-goal, one-assist performance on Saturday.

This was Jovan after Saturday’s win over Selkirk.
