The Dauphin Kings came out on Saturday and took it to the Selkirk Steelers.

One night after a 3-2-win, Dauphin opened the floodgates as they scored five times in the first 20 minutes, and it was led Deepkaran Hans scored twice as the Kings took a 5-0 lead after 20 minutes and they would win the game 7-3.

Jovan Malay, Alex Senf and Jayden Harris also scored for the Kings in the first. Coming into the second down by five, the Steelers would do their best to come back as they scored two goals; however, they were still down by three after 40.

Matthew Gough and Ethan Williment would score for Dauphin in the third while Mathieu Moreira responded for the Steelers. After the dominant first period, the Kings would ultimately cruise the rest of the way as they earned their sixth win of the season.

Dauphin is now 6-5-1 while the Steelers are still winless as they’re 0-8-1-1 and are tied for last in the East Division.

The Kings didn’t score on their only power play while they went 2-for-3 on the penalty kill. Cole Sheffield made 10 saves in net as he won his third straight game.

Next up for Dauphin is a home-and-home next weekend with the Virden Oil Capitals, Friday’s game is in Virden.
