Kings Strengthen Forward Core

DAUPHIN, MB – The Dauphin Kings announced Tuesday that they have added another WHL prospect, this time Winnipeg forward Ian Briscoe (99) will join the club for the remainder of the season.

Briscoe comes to the Kings from Seattle. He was a fifth round draft pick of the Thunderbirds (104th overall) back in 2014. Through 17 contests in the WHL this season the forward had two goals and was a plus one overall.

Last season with the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League’s Winnipeg Wild Briscoe was second on the team in scoring with 19 goals and 22 assists for 41 points. He also helped the team to a league championship with four goals and six assists in 10 post season contests.

“Ian is a highly skilled offensive player that will provide an immediate impact to our hockey club” says Kings Head Coach and General Manager Marc Berry.

“Ian is also very familiar with a number of players on our team and will be reunited with his now former Winnipeg Wild teammate Brendan Arnold which should make this a smooth transition.”
