DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings scored early and didn't look back in a 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Blues Friday night at Credit Union Place.
The Kings scored two goals in the opening 10 minutes of the affair. Getting markers from Matthew Pitchenese and Kyle Oleksiuk. Dauphin would take that lead into the second and Winnipeg would cut it in half, making it 2-1 just under five minutes in.
At the midway point of the second period the Kings would bounce back when Riese Gaber notched his ninth of the season. Grady Hobbs would get on the board six minutes later to give Dauphin a 4-1 advantage.
The teams wouldn't add any more goals in the final period with the Kings skating away with the win.
Brennan Kitchen had another excellent game between the pipes for Dauphin. He stopped 41 of the 42 shots he faced while his team fired 42 on the Blues net as well.
There weren't many man advantage opportunities Friday. The Kings finished the night 0 for 2 while the Blues were 0 for 3.
The decision snaps the Kings' three game losing skid and bumps them to 4-8-1 on the season. The club won't get much rest however, they're back in action Saturday when they welcome the Winkler Flyers to Credit Union Place. Game time is 7:30pm!
