Stampeders Get Past Kings

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings gave up a goal late in the third period in a 2-1 loss to the Swan Valley Stampeders Tuesday night.

The game was mostly even throughout with both goaltenders standing tall. Brennan Kitchen and Brett Evans each saw 38 shots come their way with Evans having the edge on the night.

In the first period the Stampeders were the only team to capitalize when they came off their first man advantage opportunity.

The second period saw the Kings tie things up when McCullough Park scored his third of the season on the Power Play.

The two teams would go into the third period tied at one and eventually Swan Valley would break through late when Quintin Sudom put a shot over the shoulder of Kitchen with just under five minutes to play. The Kings would have some pressure late but couldn't even things up,

Power Plays saw the Kings with the only goal. They went 1 for 5 while Swan Valley was 0 for 5 Tuesday.

With the loss Dauphin now moves to 3-8-1 on the season. They'll regroup with two days of practice before their next contest which comes Friday night at Credit Union Place when they entertain the Winnipeg Blues. Puck drop is 7:30pm!
