Kings Fall On Ukrainian Night

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings fell asleep in the third period and it cost them in a 4-1 loss to the Portage Terriers Saturday night at Credit Union Place.

The Kings played well in front of almost 1900 people (1894), jumping out to a 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the contest and holding it until the early stages of the third period.

Cole DeKoninck scored his sixth of the season in the first for Dauphin. With assists to Kolby Johnson and Jaxon Heeney on the play.

The score would remain 1-0 until 4:16 of the third period when Portage evened things up. The Terriers would then score three more goals in the next seven minutes.

Ethan Slobodizan played well in goal for Dauphin, stopping 39 of 43 shots while his team had 33 on the Portage net.

The loss is Dauphin's first in two weeks and drops their record to 23-20-4 on the season. They remain sixth in the standings heading into action next week.

Dauphin's next affair comes Wednesday when the Swan Valley Stampeders come to Credit Union Place. Game time is 7:30pm!
