Kings crack national top 20

The Dauphin Kings are on fire as they’ve won their last five games and now the team has been recognized by the Canadian Junior Hockey League.

In their latest Top 20 Rankings, Dauphin is ranked 14th, after they were unranked for the first few weeks of the season.

Dauphin is 8-2 and is tied for the top spot in the league’s West Division with the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

During their five-game winning streak, Dauphin has scored 26 goals and they’ve given up just 11 goals. Dauphin’s 22 goals against is by far the fewest in the West Division, with Wayway’s 35 being the next closest.

Only the Blues and Pistons have allowed fewer goals against.  Dauphin’s powerplay is running at 30.8% right now and that’s the second-best in the league, behind only the Blues.

Your next chance to see the Kings in action is on Friday when they play the Virden Oil Capitals at Credit Union Place.

The Blues are ranked sixth in Canada, Steinbach is seventh and Waywayseecappo is 19th.
