Kings and Titans clash again

The Neepawa Titans were just 25 seconds away from opening their season with a win in regulation. The Dauphin Kings; however, had other plans as they scored late in regulation and early in overtime as the Titans earned only a single point.

Now the two clubs will go back at it again on Saturday to complete a weekend home-and-home on opening weekend. Both goaltenders played great on Friday.

Saturday’s game will be played at the Yellowhead Centre where a great crowd is expected. The ice surface is also smaller in Neepawa which means the play comes at you that much faster. Dauphin has experienced a smaller ice service so far as they played a preseason game at the Centennial Arena against the Stampeders.

Anthony Bax was the hero on Friday as he scored a pair of goals. After Friday’s game, he said that he knows Saturday’s contest will be a tough one.

“We know they’re going to come out extremely tough and we have to as well,” said Bax. “We can’t afford to take off any shifts. We’re looking forward to getting back on the ice.”
