Dauphin signs fifth-overall pick

The Dauphin Kings are pleased to announce that Rylan Gage has committed to the organization.

Gage was drafted fifth-overall by Dauphin in the 2020 MJHL Draft and with that, he is one of Dauphin’s top prospects.

Gage had this to say after signing his Letter of Intent.

“It feels awesome to join such a terrific organization,” said Gage. “I have been a part of a few of their camps and I have had the chance to meet some players and the coaching staff. It’s a great crew and I am very excited for next year.”

Rylan is coming off an all-star season with the Yellowhead U18 Chiefs of the Manitoba AAA U18 Hockey League. He scored 21 times in 44 regular season games while adding 38 assists for 59 points. Gage then recorded one assist over three playoff games.

“Fans can expect a hard working player that will do whatever the team needs me to do,” offered Gage.

Doug Hedley, the team’s head coach and general manager had this to say on the signing of Rylan.

“Rylan has great character, work ethic, and compete,” said Hedley. “He plays a heavy game with a great release. He is a very welcomed addition to our organization.”

Gage is no stranger to being inside Credit Union Place as he has spent many hours over the years cheering on the Kings in Dauphin.
