Belak shines again, Kings win

Mason Smith scored the game-winner, Marko Belak was outstanding and the Dauphin Kings picked up two big points on Tuesday.

Opening up a busy week in OCN, Smith scored the game-winner in the third period as Dauphin held on for a 2-1 win over their West Division rivals.

With a 6-on-5 late in the contest, OCN pushed very hard but Belak stood tall and was on a mission. He made a save off his helmet sliding to his left and another point blank save in the dying moments of the contest. He ended the game with 34 saves to record his second straight win.

Dauphin was also great on the penalty kill as they went 4-for-4 and are now eight for their last eight. OCN remains in first in the West after the loss; however, Dauphin is just five points back now.

The Kings play on home ice on Friday and Saturday.
