Three Stars Of The Week

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings near the halfway point of February and continue to battle for home ice advantage in the MJHL Playoffs.

In case you missed it last week the Kings dropped two of their three games. First a 4-0 loss to the Swan Valley Stampeders. That was followed by a 7-5 defeat to the Oil Capitals in Virden. Dauphin did close out their week strong with a 5-1 victory over the Monarchs in Winnipeg.

This week the Kings have three more contests. It starts Tuesday when they host the Northern Manitoba Blizzard at Credit Union Place. Then the Kings are home to the Winnipeg Monarchs on Friday before they go to Winnipeg to play the Blues on Saturday. Dauphin will also play a rare Monday nighter on February 16th when they visit the Waywayseecappo Wolverines for Louis Riel Day.

The Kings enter this week with a record of 24-20-1-0 on the season. They are second in the MJHL's West Division, two points up on Neepawa with two extra games played.

THREE STARS

The Dauphin Kings Three Starts of the Week is presented by Parkland Source for Sports and local legend Dave Campbell. It's handed out at the end of the regular season and is based on a point system week-to-week. The Kings' final regular season game is Saturday March 14th vs. the Winnipeg Blues. This is also a Rain Check Night!

The point system works like this:

1st Star = 5 points
2nd Star = 3 points
3rd Star = 1 point

At the end of the season the player with the most points will win the trophy which, again, will be presented by Parkland Source for Sports!

Each week the standings will be updated in the "Three Stars of the Week" article.
