Three Stars Of The Week

DAUPHIN, MB - What started off as a good week for the Dauphin Kings ended as a low as the club dropped two of three games last week.

In case you missed it the Kings won their opening game of the week, beating the Northern Manitoba Blizzard 7-0. Dauphin then followed that up with losses on Saturday against Steinbach (8-6) and Sunday against Niverville (2-1). The most disappointing part of the week for the Kings is likely the fact they led both those games with less than half a period to play but ended up losing in regulation.

Dauphin will look to rebound this week with two games on tap. Both are against the Portage Terriers. The home-and-home set will begin Friday (7:30pm) in Portage and then come to Dauphin on Sunday (4:00pm).

The Kings enter this week first in the MJHL's West Division. They lead the Virden Oil Capitals by three points but have played one more game.

THREE STARS

The Dauphin Kings Three Starts of the Week is presented by Parkland Source for Sports and local legend Dave Campbell. It's handed out at the end of the regular season and is based on a point system week-to-week. The Kings' final regular season game is Saturday March 14th vs. the Winnipeg Blues. This is also a Rain Check Night!

The point system works like this:

1st Star = 5 points
2nd Star = 3 points
3rd Star = 1 point

At the end of the season the player with the most points will win the trophy which, again, will be presented by Parkland Source for Sports!

Each week the standings will be updated in the "Three Stars of the Week" article.
