Three Stars Of The Week

DAUPHIN, MB - A very good weekend has the Dauphin Kings needing just one point to clinch second in the MJHL's West Division.

In case you missed it last week the Kings won two of three games. They started the stretch with a 2-1 loss to Selkirk before rebounding and beating Waywayseecappo 4-3 in overtime and Virden 4-3 in regulation to close out the weekend.

The results put the Kings at 31-23-2-0 on the season. With 64 points they're five ahead of Waywayseecappo with one more game played. Dauphin needs just one point in two games this week to clinch second in the West Division.

This week the Kings have two games. They'll head north to The Pas on Tuesday to face the Northern Manitoba Blizzard (7:00pm) and then wrap things up on home ice on Saturday when they face off with the Winnipeg Blues.

Saturday's game is Awards and Rain Check Night and the 50/50 is already well over $2000.00 thanks to Fusion Credit Union!

Puck drop on Saturday is 7:00pm with Awards being handed out before, during and after the game!

THREE STARS

The Dauphin Kings Three Starts of the Week is presented by Parkland Source for Sports and local legend Dave Campbell. It's handed out at the end of the regular season and is based on a point system week-to-week. The Kings' final regular season game is Saturday March 14th vs. the Winnipeg Blues. This is also a Rain Check Night!

The point system works like this:

1st Star = 5 points
2nd Star = 3 points
3rd Star = 1 point

At the end of the season the player with the most points will win the trophy which, again, will be presented by Parkland Source for Sports!

Each week the standings will be updated in the "Three Stars of the Week" article.
