Stampeders Get By Kings In Game Three

SWAN RIVER, MB - The Dauphin Kings played one of their better games of the series, but couldn't come away with a win in a 5-3 loss to the Swan Valley Stampeders Wednesday night.

The opening period saw the Stampeders score just over a minute into the contest, then again just under three minutes in.

From there it was a back and forth affair. Riley Shamray (1) would score on the man advantage to make it 2-1, then Swan Valley would pull ahead 3-1. Then before the end of the first period Cole DeKoninck (2) would score on the power play as well for the Kings.

In the second period Swan Valley scored early before Dauphin again responded with the goal being credited to Matthew Boonstra (1). The Stampeders would then make it 5-3 before the end of the middle frame.

Both teams had chances in the third period, but neither were able to score.

Both teams scored twice on the power play Wednesday. Bryan Landsberger suffered the loss in goal, stopping 41 of 46 shots while the Kings had 25 shots.

Now the Kings will try to stave off elimination starting on Friday when they host game four of the series at Credit Union Place.

The South Ticket Office will open Thursday from 9am to 6pm and Friday from 3:00pm until game time. Puck drop Friday is 7:30pm.
