Game two goes in Steinbach

Game two of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League final is set for tonight at the T.G. Smith Centre.

The Pistons downed the Kings 5-1 on Friday so now Dauphin is looking for a weekend split ahead of games three and four which will be played Tuesday and Wednesday in Dauphin. The Kings outshot the Pistons on Friday; however, they couldn’t get anything going as Simon Harkness played very well and Dauphin wasn’t able to capitalize on any second chance scoring opportunities.

“We just have to be better, plain and simple,” said Klim Georgiev. “We were chasing the puck and we got away from how we play. We just have to be better.”

1098 fans packed into the arena for the contest and another great crowd is expected Saturday night as tickets have already sold-out. The goal for a road team to start the series is to split and that’s exactly what Dauphin will look to do.
