Young Guns Shine In 4-2 Win Over OCN

DAUPHIN, MB - For the second time in four days the Dauphin Kings took down a team in the MJHL's top five, picking up a 4-2 decision over the OCN Blizzard Tuesday night.

It was a great game for the Kings' young guns and it started in the opening period when Grady Hobbs notched his fourth of the season on a nice setup from Danny Pion who continues to play hot since joining the club last week. Pion would end the night with a goal and two assists.

The Kings would take that 1-0 advantage in the second period and add to it when Jaymes Knee scored his third of the campaign off a rebound in front. OCN would cut Dauphin's lead in half before the end of the second.

In the third period the Kings bent but did not break. OCN would tie things up just over five minutes into the frame but Dauphin battled through and Grady Hobbs was rewarded with his second of the night and fifth of the season. Danny Pion would score an empty netter to seal the deal for the Kings.

Brennan Kitchen returned to his old ways, playing superb. He made 36 saves on 38 shots Tuesday night. His team had 39 shots on the OCN goal.

The only Power Play goal on the night went to the OCN Blizzard, they ended the night 1 for 3 while the Kings went 0 for 3 on the man advantage.

The victory improves Dauphin's record to 7-22-2 on the season. They'll welcome the Virden Oil Capitals to Credit Union Place on Friday for TEDDY BEAR TOSS & HOCKEY CARD NIGHT sponsored by the Dauphin Super 8! Puck drop is slated for 7:30pm!
