Wolverines Hand Kings First Pre Season Loss

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings couldn't find much consistency in their game in a 3-1 loss to the visiting Waywayseecappo Wolverines Friday night.

Dauphin gave up the game's first goal just over five minutes in. The Wolverines would control most of the opening frame, outshooting the Kings 13-2.

The Kings would come out strong in the second, however, and they were rewarded when Kale Pratte tallied his first of the exhibition campaign. After that Wayway played well and Dauphin couldn't get much going. The Wolverines would go up 3-1 after 40.

In the third the Kings did have some chances but couldn't find the back of the net.

The final shots were 29-22 for the Wolverines. Waywayseecappo finished 1 for 3 on the man advantage while Dauphin was 0 for 3.

The Kings get 24 hours off before their next action. It'll be the club's first road game of the pre season when they visit the Wolverines in Waywayseecappo Saturday. Opening face off is pegged for 7:30pm.

Following Saturday's tilt Dauphin will return home and see their next exhibition game on Wednesday when they go to Souris to play the Neepawa Titans. The Kings' last exhibition home game is next Friday when they entertain Neepawa at Credit Union Place.
