WAYWAYSEECAPPO, MB - A poor effort from start to finish helped the Kings to their 24th loss of the season Wednesday night in Wayway as the club fell 6-3 to the Wolverines.
The Kings couldn't get anything going from the drop of the puck Wednesday and would eventually fall behind 3-0 after the opening 20 minutes.
Dauphin would get on the board in the middle frame when Nakodan Greyeyes (8) threw a puck on net and it would find its way home. However the Wolverines would respond quick, making it 4-1 four minutes later and then 5-1 before the end of the period.
In the third Dauphin had a mini push but it was eventually stopped. Avery Smith (12) and Eamonn Miller would get the Kings to within two but after Dauphin made it 5-3 the Wolverines scored a weak goal to make it a 6-3 final.
Ethan Slobodzian started the contest for the Kings but did not finish. Unfortunately shot totals online and on the game sheet are conflicting so shot totals are unknown at this time. One thing is for sure the loss was not the Kings' goalies faults on this night.
The loss puts the Kings at 27-24-6 on the season. They have three games left starting on Tuesday when they host the OCN Blizzard at Credit Union Place. Puck drop is slated for 7:30pm.
