Williment Scores Late, Kings Win Second Straight

DAUPHIN, MB - Ethan Williment scored late and Cole Sheffield was excellent as the Dauphin Kings grabbed their second straight win, a 2-1 decision over the Neepawa Titans Friday night.

The first five minutes of the game were pretty slow but after that the affair turned into a bit of a track meet with the two teams trading chances through the midway point of the period. The opportunities continued through the opening frame but both goalies stood tall.

In the second period the teams continued their back and forth chances and finally it was the Kings who broke through just before the midway point. Gavin Nemis (13) would tip in a point shot from Brett Magarrell to give his team a 1-0 advantage. The period would end with Dauphin out front.

The final period saw the Titans tie things up with about seven minutes to go but Ethan Williment (14) would tally off a great setup from Ethan Stewart with less than five minutes to go. That would hold up as the winner.

Special Teams finished with the Kings going 0 for 1 on the Power Play and 2 for 2 on the Penalty Kill.

Cole Sheffield, as mentioned, was excellent. He turned away 25 of 26 shots while his team fired 28 on the Neepawa goal.

The win improves the Kings to 33-15-2-1 on the year. After a Blizzard win they remain six points ahead of Norman for top spot in the West Division.

Not much time for rest for the Kings as they'll be back at it tomorrow night when they host the Niverville Nighthawks at Credit Union Place. Game time tomorrow is 7:30pm, see you there!
