Weekend rematch

There was plenty to cheer about on Friday as the Dauphin Kings downed the OCN Blizzard, 5-2, in front of more than 2100 fans at Credit Union Place.

On Sunday afternoon, they will look to give their fans plenty more to cheer about when the two teams meet again to wrap up the weekend. Dauphin controlled the play on Friday and found some timely offence and the team’s power play was very good, scoring two times.

Dmytro Kubrytskyi was also tremendous in his debut with the team as he made 28 saves, 27 of which came in a row after giving up a goal on OCN’s first shot of the game.

After Waywayseecappo lost last night, Dauphin is just two points back of them for first place in the West Division. To note, Swan Valley is also tied for first place in the West right now and they play in Steinbach on Sunday evening.

Sunday’s game is the fifth time the two teams will meet this season, both have won two games.

Special puck drop for the game as it’s slated for 4:00 p.m.
