Wareham Commits To Kings

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings have added long time prospect to their arsenal for the upcoming 2020-2021 season.

D-man Owen Wareham (02) was drafted in the 4th round of the 2017 MJHL Draft by the Kings and has been a part of the club ever since. He committed to the team for next season earlier this week.

"It's really exciting" said Wareham. "It'll be something different, I've been with the Yellowhead Chiefs for the last number of years. I already know a few of the guys from the game I played in Dauphin earlier this season" he added.

This season with Yellowhead the Rivers product has 10 goals and 18 assists in 37 contests. He'll be looking to make deep run with the Chiefs in his final season of AAA hockey. Wareham also dressed once already this season with the Kings back on December 17th.

"It was a great eye opener for me to see what it's like to play at the next level. The guys really welcomed me that night and it really secured Dauphin as a place I wanted to be next season" said Wareham.

Since 2017 the 6'1, 175 pound blue liner has been with the Manitoba AAA U18 Hockey League's Yellowhead Chiefs.

"I like to think of myself as an offensive defenceman. I like to jump up in the rush and get some offence going."
