Two Shorthanded Goals Help Kings To Victory

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings scored two shorthanded goals and a power play goal to pick up their third straight win on the road to start the season, a 5-4 decision over the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

Dauphin went back and forth in Tuesday's game. They fell behind 1-0 but bounced back with goals from Gabriel Bugeaud (3) and Ethan Williment (4)(SH) to make it 2-1 after 20.

In the second the Kings again fell on their heels, but again they awoke and made it a 4-4 contest going to the final frame. Cayden Glover (9)(PP) and Madden Murray (3)(SH) picked up Special Teams markers for the Kings in the second.

In the third period the Kings controlled things but Wayway had their chances. In the later stages the Kings would capitalize at the end of a four minute man advantage after Ty Pratte fed Nathan Lenoski (3) with a nice pass to give the Kings a 5-4 edge.

Cole Sheffield won his sixth game of the season and was solid between the pipes. He stopped 21 of the 25 shots he faced. The Kings put 37 on the Wolverines' net.

Dauphin ended the night 1 for 6 on the Power Play and 6 for 7 on the Penalty Kill.

The Kings now prepare for a three game in three night stretch beginning on Friday when they start by visiting the Selkirk Steelers. Game time is 7:30pm. That tilt will be followed by games in Winnipeg (Freeze) and Winkler.
