Titans Clip Kings 4-3

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings out shot and out played the Neepawa Titans in the third period but it was too little too late in a 4-3 loss Sunday at Credit Union Place.

Dauphin started the new year off right when Madden Murray (7) opened the scoring early in the first period. That, however, was the only time the Kings would have the lead as Neepawa would score three straight. One in the first and two more in the second to go ahead 3-1. Madden Murray (8) would notch one late in the middle stanza to get the Kings within one heading to the third.

In the final frame the Kings were scored on early to fall behind 4-2. They would go on to out play and out shoot Neepawa 23-11 in the period, but it wasn't enough. Josh Schmidt (5) made it close late but his team couldn't find the tying goal.

The Kings Penalty Kill struggled going 1 for 4. Their Power Play could not mix in a goal, going 0 for 2.

Final shots had the Kings out shooting the Titans 54-33. Bryson Yaschyshyn took the loss between the pipes.

The Kings, now 19-11-1-0, get one day off before returning to action on Tuesday when they host the Waywayseecappo Wolverines for the final time this season. The game is also sponsored by RBC and sees puck drop at 7:00pm!
