Terriers Edge Kings 2-1 In Game Three

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings almost forced overtime, but a couple bad bounces did them in in a 2-1 loss to the Portage Terriers Tuesday night.

The opening 20 minutes had the Kings grab three man advantages, but they couldn't capitalize. They out shot the Terriers 13-6 but the game was scoreless after the first.

In the second both teams traded chances, but it was the Terriers who broke through. Portage scored twice and took a 2-0 lead to the final frame.

In the third the Kings were dominant. They made it a 2-1 game but couldn't tie it up. Gavin Nemis (4) snagged one on the Power Play. Dauphin hit three crossbars in the last 20 minutes and did everything they could but couldn't get back on even terms.

Power Plays saw Dauphin go 1 for 5 while Portage was 0 for 2.

Cole Sheffield played well in the loss. He stopped 27 of 29 shots. Dauphin had 40.

Next up is a couple days off for both teams. The series will resume Friday night at Credit Union Place with game time at 7:30pm!
