Steelers Shut Out Kings

SELKIRK, MB - The Dauphin Kings put forth a disappointing effort in Selkirk Saturday night and didn't come away with any points in a 4-0 loss to the Steelers.

Selkirk started their scoring less than two minutes into the affair, they'd then tally again in the mid stages of the opening period. Dauphin would show some god pushback but couldn't get anything over the goal line despite having a couple of scrambles in front of the Steeler net.

In the second period Selkirk padded their lead with a goal almost 14 minutes into the frame. Dauphin's second period was decent, but again the club couldn't finish on their opportunities.

The final period had the Kings lose interest and eventually give up Selkirk's fourth goal. Dauphin was out shot 18-8 in the third.

Total shots Saturday were 50-26 for the Steelers. Ethan Slobodzian suffered the loss in goal for the Kings.

Dauphin gave up one goal on the man advantage and didn't score on their four opportunities.

On the horizon for the Kings is a game with the Terriers in Portage on Wednesday. Dauphin will then begin a stretch on Friday that will see them play seven of their final nine contests on home ice.

The Kings are now 23-21-6 on the season and remain 6th in the MJHL Standings.
