DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings outshot the Swan Valley Stampeders by a wide margin but couldn't pick up the win in their lone road exhibition game of the MJHL pre season.
The Kings fell 5-4 in Swan River despite outshooting the home side Stampeders 43-28.
Swan Valley took advantage of five power play opportunities, including a five minute chance after Ashton Paul was removed from the game following a major cross checking penalty. The Stampeders ended the night 3 for 5 while Dauphin finished 0 for 3 on the man advantage.
Kyan Grouette led the Kings in scoring with two goals while Matt Haun and Cayden Glover had the other markers. Dauphin's Rylan Gibbs picked up two assists.
Austin Seibel and Victor Larin suffered the loss for the Kings in goal. Seibel allowed four goals on 24 shots while Larin turned aside three of four shots.
Dauphin will return home Saturday night. An opportunity for some final auditions as the team concludes the pre season against the Virden Oil Capitals. Game time at Credit Union Place is 7:30PM!
