Sheffield dominating Three Stars race

There’s no stopping Cole Sheffield as he’s once again the first star in this week’s Parkland Source for Sports Three Stars of the Week.

1st Star: Cole Sheffield

In his lone action of the weekend, Sheffield was stellar once again as he turned away 40 shots in Dauphin’s 5-2 win against Niverville.

Over Cole’s last four starts, he has given up just five goals while making 136 saves. He has made at least 36 saves in three of those games.

Cole is 12-6-2 on the season with a .921 save percentage to go along with a 2.59 goals-against average.

2nd Star: Mason Smith

The 20-year-old put together one of his strongest performances of the season on Sunday in the team’s win.

With one goal and one assist, Smith terrorized the Nighthawk defenders. Smith is second in team-scoring this year with 11 goals and 22 assists, which has him two points behind Matthew Gough.

Mason is one of the fastest players in the league and if he continues to perform as he did on Sunday, he will become a dominant force.

3rd Star: Logan Walker

Logan was one of the best players on the ice in Dauphin’s defeat on Friday and he was once again solid on Sunday.

Walker is extremely consistent and he leaves everything out on the ice every single shift. He has also been a solid offensive contributor since joining the club as he’s chalked up nine points in 17 games with his newest team.

He plays a heavy game and has already shown that he can beat goalies clean, as he did in Waywayseecappo a couple of weeks back.
