Sheffield back on top, joined by Walker & Gough

It was a big weekend for the Dauphin Kings as they won both of their games against Waywayseeecappo. Dauphin is now in a tie for second in the West Division and they’re only two points back of OCN for the top spot.

Cole Sheffield was a big reason why Dauphin earned four points over the weekend and he’s the first star in this week’s Parkland Source for Sports Three Stars of the Week.

1st Star – Cole Sheffield

Sheffield was a brick wall over the weekend as he made 60 saves and gave up just two goals.

His .967 save percentage in the two games saw the first-year King make 37 saves on Friday and then he made 23 more on Saturday. Already a candidate for save of the year, Sheffield is 11-6-2 this season.

He has a .915 save percentage to go along with a 2.70 goals-against average and he is this year’s RBC Community Ambassador winner for Dauphin

2nd Star – Logan Walker

Logan scores in big moments, he makes big defensive play after big defensive play and he wins a ton of battles.

Walker posted one assist on Friday and then he scored a beautiful goal on Saturday in Dauphin’s 3-1 win.

The 19-year-old has posted six goals and three assists in 13 games with Dauphin this year.

3rd Star – Matthew Gough

Returning to Dauphin’s lineup after returning home for the funeral of his grandfather, Gough didn’t wait long to contribute once again.

He had one goal and one assist in his return on Friday in helping Dauphin secure a 5-1 win. Gough continues to produce at an elite level and he is becoming one of the league’s top offensive producers as he pairs his solid hands with a slick shot.

Leading the way offensively for Dauphin this year, the 20-year-old has 17 goals and 17 assists.
