Round 6: Parkland battle

The Dauphin Kings make another trip up north on Wednesday as they continue their regular season with a game against the Swan Valley Stampeders.

The game kicks off an extremely busy February for the team as Dauphin hits the ice for 10 games this month and keep in mind, the team still has three games to makeup, two against the Winnipeg Freeze and one against the Virden Oil Capitals.

It’s the second meeting of 2022 between the two clubs as Swan Valley downed Dauphin last month and January was a mixed bag for the Kings. They opened the month with two straight losses and ended the month with a loss. In between those three games, the Kings won two of their three contests. Swan Valley; meanwhile, is coming off back-to-back weekend splits with Neepawa. Carter Cockburn was named the league’s player of the month in January as he recorded 16 points.

“They’re creeping up in the standings so we need to get the job done,” said Luke Morris. “We’ll be prepared and ready to go when the puck drops on Wednesday.”

Dauphin enters the contest one point behind Waywayseecappo for first in the West Division, Swan Valley is in third.
