Pistons Double Kings

DAUPHIN, MB – A back and forth affair Saturday night at Credit Union Place saw the Steinbach Pistons take out the Dauphin Kings 4-2.

The first period had the Pistons jump out to a 2-0 lead and mostly outplay the Kings. However, Dauphin rebounded in the middle period and tied things up after outplaying Steinbach for most of the frame. Then the Pistons pulled away with two goals in the late stages of the second. The third period had both teams getting some good opportunities, but neither could capitalize.

Goal scorers for the Kings Saturday evening were Keaton Leininger (3) and Matty Greening (2). Greening also had an assist with other apples going to Parker Simonson and Matt Bartel.

Tanner Douglas started the contest for Dauphin but did not finish. He stopped 12 of 16 shots. Brandon Holtby replaced Douglas in the third period and turned aside all 17 he faced. Matt Radomsky had the win for Steinbach, he made 24 saves on 26 Dauphin shots.

Power Plays were in favour of Steinbach, the Pistons went 1 for 3 while Dauphin was 0 for 2.

The Kings record falls to 2-8-0 on the season. The club will now get set for two weeks on the road starting on Tuesday when they visit the Waywayseecappo Wolverines. The two weeks will also take the Kings to Steinbach (2), Winkler and Selkirk before they return home Friday November 4th to battle the Winkler Flyers at Credit Union Place.
