Parkland battle on tap

The Dauphin Kings and Swan Valley Stampeders renew their Parkland rivalry Friday night when they play for the seventh time this season.

The Kings are 5-1 against the Stampeders coming into the game and they have already clinched the West Division. Meanwhile, the Stampeders are looking to stay right where they are. They’re in fourth place right now and have a two-point gap over Neepawa for the fourth and final playoff spot.

Swan Valley can clinch a playoff spot on their own tonight with a win or if Neepawa loses, Swan Valley will be heading to the playoffs. Tonight’s game is also a potential first-round playoff series. The Stampeders can’t go any higher in the standings so as long as they earn at least a point over the next two games or Neepawa loses a single game, these two teams will play in the first round.

Dauphin is coming off a tightly contested 6-5 defeat against Virden while Swan Valley shut out OCN in their last game, 4-0. Looking forward to Saturday, don’t forget that the doors open at 5:00 p.m.
