VIRDEN, MB - Four goals against in the final three minutes of the first period cost the Kings a shot at two points Saturday night in a 6-2 loss to Virden Oil Capitals.
After the Oil Capitals tallied four times the Kings actually played quite well in the final 40 minutes of the contest.
In the middle frame the Kings scored the only goal when Brendan Arnold notched his 9th of the season. Then in the third period he scored his 10th of the campaign to make it a two goal game.
The Oil Capitals would pull away with a 5-2 marker in the last 10 minutes of the contest and then would add an empty netter to make it a 6-2 final.
Brennan Kitchen suffered the loss between the pipes but played well, turning aside 35 of 40 shots while his team had 26 on the Virden goal.
Dauphin ends their 50th Anniversary season with a 14-44-2 season and will head into the off season looking forward to their Spring Camp & Draft Combine which goes April 13th to the 15th at Credit Union Place!
