DAUPHIN, MB - For the second straight game the Dauphin Kings got in penalty trouble and it cost them in a 3-2 loss to the Virden Oil Capitals at Credit Union Place.

The Kings would start the game strong when Kale Pratte would notch his seventh of the season, scoring unassisted just past the midway point of the frame. Dauphin wouldn't hold the lead for long. Less than a minute later the Oil Capitals would tie it and then two minutes after that they'd take the lead.

Virden would hold their 2-1 advantage until the third period when the Kings tied it on Havryil Simchuk's 14th of the year. Dauphin did control things for most of the period but got in to some penalty trouble late and eventually they gave up the game winning goal on the penalty kill with five minutes to play.

Bryson Yaschyshyn took the loss in goal, turning aside 32 of 35 shots while the Kings had 28.

Dauphin did not have a full two minute advantage on Wednesday night, they had one power play that was less than two minutes. They finished the night 0 for 1 while Virden was 1 for 5
