McGovern Returns To Dauphin

DAUPHIN, MB - A familiar face is back with the Dauphin Kings after spending time in the WHL.

Goaltender Duncan McGovern (00), a product of Winnipeg, has rejoined the Kings and is hoping to return to game action in the coming days.

"It's great to come back and see some familiar faces and see how the organization has come along in the past few years" said McGovern.

McGovern spent time with the Dauphin Kings during the 2016-17 season. He played in eight games with the team before returning to the Medicine Hat Tigers to close out his season. In the eight games the then 16 year old had a 4.27 goals against average and a .894 save percentage.

During his time in the WHL McGovern finished with a 19-29 record. He went on to take part in the Winnipeg Jets rookie camp in 2018 and participated in a rookie game against the Vancouver Canucks in Penticton, BC last September.

"I've been through a lot of ups and downs in my career and that was one of the best moments. Getting to see that caliber of hockey, I think that's something that I can take moving forward and use it to help me with the Kings here in Dauphin" added McGovern.

The Kings return to action Friday when they host the Portage Terriers at Credit Union Place. They game is presented by the Dauphin Fire Department with puck drop pegged for 7:30pm!
