The “Local Lion” will be featured every Wednesday for fifteen straight weeks. The article will focus in on the fifteen Parkland area players on the fifty man protected list by the Dauphin Kings.
“Thirty percent of our list is from the Parkland area. It’s excellent having the local talent come up through minor hockey ranks. It’s a gratifying experience for their family and friends of being able to come and watch them at the Cup thirty times a year” explains GM and Head Coach Marlin Murray.
“We want the city and surrounding area to get behind these local boys and show their support. To go to the Credit Union Place and know a good portion of the roster is a win-win for all parties involved. It’s much the same as a few years back where we had a good amount of the Kings player born and raised in the Parkland area. It’s an exciting time for sure” echoes Murray.
The Dauphin Kings will start the “Local Lion” feature tomorrow (Wednesday May 12th).
