For the final time in the regular season, the Dauphin Kings and OCN Blizzard will hook up and for the most part, it’s been all Kings. Entering the game as the first place team in the West Division, Dauphin has won six of seven meetings against OCN this season.
In their last meeting 48 hours ago, Nick Pineo was the star of the show as he made 58 saves for OCN; however, it wasn’t quite enough for the Blizzard as Dauphin earned the extra point in a 4-3 overtime win.
Dauphin has won four games in a row entering Saturday night and six of their last seven after somewhat of a slow start to 2022. During their strong stretch, Dauphin’s offence continues to get it done, scoring 15 times in their last four games. OCN has lost two straight and eight of their last nine and they need to start winning soon if they want to make the playoffs.
Dauphin has won 15 of their 19 games on home ice this season while OCN has struggled heavily on the road this season going 5-13-0-2. When we welcome the Waywayseecappo Wolverines to town next weekend, it will be a battle of the top two teams in the West and there will be no capacity restrictions.
Game notes:
- Dauphin has outscored OCN, 30-13 in the six games this season
- With Nick Braun’s two goals on Thursday, he now has 19, the second-most on the team behind Logan Calder and Kaden Bryant
- Dain Sardelli has been OCN’s most consistent player, scoring 23 times this season and he scored once on Thursday
- Dauphin has lost just once on home ice in 2022, OCN has not won on the road
