Kings Win Third Straight, Beat Neepawa 2-1
DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings scored once in the second and once in the third to grind out a 2-1 win on home ice Saturday night.
The first 20 minutes saw both teams skate off with no goals in a period that featured a couple scoring chances on each side.
In the second the Titans were the first to capitalize just over three minutes into the period. However Dauphin's Captain Rylan Gage picked up his third of the season in the final four minute to send things to a 1-1 tie after 40.
The third period saw the Kings pick up the pace. The club hit a couple posts before local product Quinten Fisk scored his first MJHL goal and what ended up being the game winner with just over six minutes to play.
Shots ended at 31-24 for the Neepawa Titans. Justin Perrault made his first start in goal for the Kings and made some key saves, helping his team to the victory. He was named the game's first star.
Power Plays were quiet on the night. Dauphin went 0 for 2 while Neepawa ended 0 for 3.
Dauphin earns their third straight victory with the win and improve to 3-1-0-0 on the young season.
