DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings snapped the Northern Manitoba Blizzard's nine game playoff winning streak and tied up their series at one with a massive 3-2 triple OT win in The Pas.

In the opening 20 minutes the Kings played well and saw Naaman Hofer (1) capitalize on a breakdown in the Northern Manitoba zone. The period would see a little momentum shift with NorMan getting the only Power Play of the frame, but Dauphin would carry their 1-0 lead to the intermission.

The second period was a back and forth frame. The Kings would score to make it 2-0 with Gabriel Bugeaud (4) pouncing on a rebound. The Blizzard would get two more man advantages and score on one. Then they’d tie it up later in the period to make it 2-2 going to the third.

In the third OT Josh Schmidt picked a great time to score his first of the playoffs. A wrist shot that beat NorMan's Timmerman to give the Kings a split in the series heading home on Tuesday.

Final shots were 52-37 for the Blizzard.

Power Plays had Dauphin end the night 0 for 2 while NorMan was 1 for 4.

The series returns to Dauphin on Tuesday when the Kings host game three. Tickets for the game go on sale TOMORROW (Monday) beginning at 10:00am at the Speedy Glass South Ticket Office!
