Kings Welcome Wolverines For Key Game Three

DAUPHIN, MB - It's not a must win game but it's probably as close as you can get to one as the Dauphin Kings host the Waywayseecappo Wolverines for game three tonight.

Dauphin is behind 2-0 in the best-of-seven series against Waywayseecappo. It's the first time the Kings have trailed 2-0 in a series since 2023, but the Kings have been in a two game down situation recently when they trailed Northern Manitoba 3-1 in last year's championship series.

Tonight's game is sponsored by Fusion Credit Union! Before the contest the Kings will honour some local provincial champions! In the first intermission it's the M&M Food Market Express Puck Toss with the pot closing in on $500.00!

TONIGHT'S MATCH UP

The good thing about the post season is if you have a bad game you can forget it and move on, regardless of the score and outcome. The Kings will hope to generate momentum tonight when they play their second game at Credit Union Place this post season. Last time out Dauphin played very well on home ice and just couldn't get the result they were looking for.

Dauphin will look for improvement 5-on-5 this evening as they have yet to score at even strength this series. The Kings scored 4-on-4 in game one, but all other goals have been on the man advantage to this point.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Both teams remain pretty even when it comes to the Special Teams side of things. Both have three goals on the man advantage in this series and both were 1 for 6 in Sunday's affair in Waywayseecappo.

When it comes to the Kings their Power Play looked ok at times in Waywayseecappo and at other times it seemed to struggled at getting pucks to the net. You could argue it's been more of the same for the Wolverines.

LEADING SCORERS

Ethan Stewart has clearly been Dauphin's best players through two playoff games. He has two goals and two assists so far. The line of Stewart, Joey Kubas and Kurtis Kinoshita has arguably been Dauphin's best to this point.

For the Wolverines they have three players at three points. Sebastian Hicks (2G, 1A), Kurt Rookes (2G, 1A) and Max Collyer (1G, 2A) are tied for the team lead in playoff scoring.
