With a great crowd on hand for the Dauphin Clinic Pharmacy Home Opener the Kings scored the game's three first goals. The first came of the stick of forward Carter Sawchuk who notched his first in the MJHL. The tally was the only one in the opening period which was pretty even for the most part.
In the second period Dauphin came out flying and scored two quick goals to go up 3-0. First was from Wayde Johannesson and the second was Carter Sawchuk again just 2:20 into the frame.
The final period saw the Oil Capitals claw back a little, but they couldn't get three by goalie Brennan Kitchen who was solid on Saturday. Mitchell Joss would score his first MJHL goal to seal the the deal, an empty netter with less than a minute to play.
Other big point getters Saturday included Samson Mouland, he had two assists and a fight. Mitchell Joss added an assist to go along with his goal in the contest.
All of Dauphin's goals were even strength while Virden had one goal on the man advantage.
